Hypodermis

This layer provides insulation to the body to keep it warm, provides a cushion that works like a shock absorber surrounding vital organs and contains blood vessels. Hypodermis attaches the Skin to the muscles and tissue below it. This layer can be thicker in some parts of the body than others.
